Absolute nightmare. When we arrived, they didn’t have our booking. You need to climb up the stairs to the 2nd floor to “check in” and no one is helping. Staff barely speaks any English and they are the most unhelpful people I’ve met working in hospitality. There’s an entire construction site next to the property- be prepared for all day noise and dust. There was a drunk person trying to enter our room at 3am - informed the property manager and I’m yet to get a response a week later. Oh, and the WiFi doesn’t work and also there’s no reception whatsoever. AVOID!!!!!

We enjoyed our stay a lot especially because of the hosts. Matt, Jenny and Pier were really nice and super helpful to book events and support us through it all. We really felt like we were part of the family. Other residents were also nice and everyone vibed nicely. We miss Babalao and the thrill of getting into the room with new bed designs everytime 😅 The staff also did a beautiful job supporting my fiancé to surprise me on my birthday morning 🥰🥰

The receptionists extremely good and very helpful

If you enjoy more of a tourist and party atmosphere this is probably the place for you
I personally prefer the more relaxed atmosphere where the staff are not so ‘on top’ of you
I booked 2 suits unfortunately one was on top of the bar and kitchen so it was quite noisy until midnight
The second suit was bottom floor access to the beach but the beach beds were full of clothes just dumped there
When I mentioned it I was told that it was ok
Not really very good for 2 suits for 500€ a day
Needless to say the next day we changed hotels to a more relaxed one more to my liking
Not to say that the hotel was bad just not for me

Paje is more chill and relaxing than in the north.
Paje is more chill and relaxing than in the north. Best place for kite surfing. The tide can influence the possibility of swimming therefore if you want beach/sun/swimming you better choose north, Kendwa.

Pajde is a small village, BUT you can find everything there.
Pajde is a small village, BUT you can find everything there. ATM, bars, beach kitesurf mostly. If you want to party all night then it might not be your place. If you love watersports and laid-back people then you are in the right spot. Visited Nungwi, but preferred Paje.

On our first day in Paje, the winds were quite strong, making it less suitable for leisure. Most of the local activities centered around kite surfing. So, if you're hoping for calm beachside strolls, Nungwi in the north is a better choice. Additionally, the tidal patterns here differ from what we're used to in the Northern Hemisphere. The tide comes in during the day and recedes in the evening. We once found ourselves stranded on the beach due to the swift rise in tide. It's something to be mindful of if visiting.
An absolute pleasure of a stay! Highly recommended. I will definitely come back when I visit Zanzibar again.
The staff was amazing- took care of every need I had with a smile. Lovely people running a lovely place.
The place itself is also great - my room was very clean and tidy and had everything I needed, the value for the price is amazing I could not expect anything more.
The breakfast is also great (coffee was especially awesome, I was surprised as for how good it was).
VERY recommended!
The Garden was a lovely, tranquil spot in Paje where we could come back after a long day and relax. The staff were all fantastic, especially the manager Natasha who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything needed for a good stay. She also provided several great recommendations for things to do and places to eat, which was much appreciated as it was our first time in Paje. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the Garden and will definitely be coming back when we return to Zanzibar.
the best thing is, without a doubt, the lovely sisters who run the place, not because the rest is bad, but because they are wonderful!! form the moment you step a foot into their hotel, Vanessa and Cristina offer you the nicest, most sincere smile you’ll see in the island. they are nice, fun, helpful and honest. Zanzibar is a paradise island, but it’s these two girls who will be forever part of your heart once you’re back home…
exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms were beautifully designed, combining modern comforts with a touch of Zanzibari charm. From the comfortable beds to the spacious private balconies or terraces, every detail was carefully thought out to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. I found myself waking up to stunning views of either the ocean or the hotel's tropical gardens, enhancing the overall experience.
Location, staff, convenience
It's all about expectations! It's a decent hotel by all means.
For us it was good enough and served the purpose: we spend a few days in a special location (Zanzibar) and were enjoyed it to the full!
We have the habit of traveling a lot, so we used the room almost only for sleeping...
The electricity and the water ran out for a few hours, but nothing to worry about.
Hakuna Matata!!!
Our stay in Paje was truly unforgettable! Waking up to a delightful breakfast by the sea added a special charm to each morning. The warmth and friendliness of the locals enhanced our experience. A special thanks to Manager Aziz for organizing various tours during our time in Zanzibar, making our stay even more enriching. Highly recommend this place for a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure!
We believe this is the best place to stay in Paje!
The staff is so helpful and accomodating and the Villa has all the facilities one would need.
The environment is very relaxing, clean and modern.
Our favourite part of the villa is the interior design that highlights the minimalistic zanzibarian aesthetics.
The location was perfect, a minute walk from the beach.
Outstanding personnel and Really Nice Hotel.
Rooms are really spacious. Location wise - have in mind that you are on 5 min walking distance (where locals houses are) from the beach.
Hotelwise - little too expensive for Zanzibar, but staff is Amazing.
All of them are super responsive and will take care of your smallest requests! Cudos guys!
Everything in this place is fantastic. I had a great time here. The staff care attentively and kindly, always smiling and wanting to help. The hotel’s so clean, and the decor vis mesmerizing. The owner is such a beautiful lady, kindly and down to earth. I booked some excursions with Shebytripzanzibar. booking this place again
Very good located beachfront hotel with a restaurant inside, the rooms are nothing special, just usual bungalows typical for Paje, but has all necessary stuff, bathroom, towels, toiletries. The rooms are cleaned everyday thoroughly. The breakfast is better than in most hotels in Paje.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Good WiFi for Zanzibar-standards.
Electric sockets that can be used with different plugs (with most plugs, you don't need an adapter).
Safety-box in the room.
Mosquito-net.
Furniture with (probably) local wood (coconut).
Good-working Air-Con.
The food is amaizing.. the bar and chillimg lounge with enough of sunbeds was nice. Waking up with the sound of ocean waves is something rare to find in Zanzibar in a budgeted hostel on the beach. Staff is nice especially the manager made my check in very smooth. Thanks.
Relatively to Paje/Zanzibar, this is a great hotel in a more western-style and standard. It's very clean, well organized, have great facilities like outdoor (with rooftop) gym and great balcony with city view. The breakfast was rich and nice.
I always stay in this hotel on weekend and thank to Your Zanzibar Place I had the most joyful and unexpected Christmas evening with drinks, music, nice company and super friendly and agreeable atmosphere. Thank you :)
What can I say: this stay is unforgettable and I will definitely be back! Zanzibar has a special place in my heart. Special thanks to the owner Joseph who cares about the place and its guests!
Brand new hotel, very clean, exceptional service from all of staff taking care of guests. Food was great. Direct access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar.
