Where I stayed was quiet and away from the main road but only a very short walk to the nearest main road bars restaurants gift shops for example. 10 to 15 minute walk down to Bowness on Windermere pier at the pierced the views were great we took one journey on one of the fairies which gave us wonderful views of the surrounding area the boat was extremely clean and very smooth. Buses were regular every 20 minutes to half an hour it was a bit confusing at some bus stops in different places like Grasmere for example and Ambleside. The 599 open top bus was nice with a audio tour guide of the surrounding area for your journey. Overall our stay or was very pleasant we manage to do everything that we plan to do within our five day trip. The two standout places for me was wast water which is a must see and Rydal water but to be honest it's beautiful whichever place you go to disease just get better and better.

Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere.

Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere. If you like trips by water, it is a good place to visit but a bit lacking in things to do apart from that. There is a good bus service to Kendal or Keswick but leave the car and use public transport. You can go to Ambleside by boat or bus but the town is packed during the summer season.

The view from the window, presentation of the property, decor of the room, bottle of water on arrival. Closeness of township. The staircase was a challenge and heating could have been better controlled.

    The location was just perfect.

The location was just perfect. It was central for us to adventure out and explore the Lake District. It was also an exciting location for relaxation in the evenings. Lots of fine restaurants and pubs to choose from with a lovely holiday atmosphere abounding everywhere. Regretfully the car ferry was out of order and not available to us. That was a bit of a nuisance as our touring plans had envisaged that being available. None the less we had a fabulous holiday and were not overly put-out by the loss.

It is so easy going in Bowness we try to come here as often as we can. There’s something to do for everyone young and old. We have a dog now and he’s so relaxed here many places are dog friendly. Bars and restaurants brilliant especially Italians on the Main Street. Our favourite place can’t wait to come back

The staff and owners all consistently went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, as well as to help with directions and/or recommendations for walks and restaurants in the Lake District. The breakfast was delicious and healthy, with a variety of choices, and we received very pleasant service from all involved. The hotel building was quaint and beautifully appointed and the large garden was absolutely lovely. A bonus was meeting Alfie and Rosie, the adorable and affectionate resident Border Terriers!

Rooms were clean and spacious. Little extras in the room were nice. Got a lake and mountain view without paying for a room that offered the views which was a bonus. Staff were warm and welcoming. Very impressed with the stay. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of options and the food was lovely. 2 minute walk to the centre of town. Nice and quiet on a night. Didn't hear much noise from other guests rooms. Will definitely be staying here again.

Kidsty pike is a beautiful apartment as it had all the mod cons you expect in an apartment and we would definitely go back. It has the town centre of bowness on windermere right on the door step. It's was lovely and clean and to be honest I can't fault this apartment in any way as its beautiful like I siad. It is a little bit hard to find but once we found the apartment, car park there to park your car. 😊

The hotel location and quality of service was excellent. We asked for a view of Lake Windermere from our bedroom, and the view was stunning. The only fault with our stay was that the spa, which was part of the reason we booked this hotel, was unavailable or fully booked.
