The city is like a beautiful museum. All the buildings are gorgeous, just like old Europe. The people are also lovely and friendly. It doesn't matter if you Don't speak French well, if try to say a few French words they really appreciate it. The food is also unique and fabulous. There's nothing bad to say about Quebec City!
Quebec City can be enjoyed in 3 days. If in Montréal, make sure to visit the Basilica light show. Go early and buy tickets there. Drive up to Tadoussac. Forget whale watching. Stop in Saint Paul if you enjoy art galleries. There is a Bed and Breakfast there with an unusual spa.
Old Quebec City was so enchanting. SO much to do and not enough time to see it all. We are planning on returning at a later date to take in more of the beauty of this city.
Walk the old walled city and then take a walk to the Citadel (if you like history take the tour here to learn about the city of Quebec) and Plains of Abraham. Take the Grand Allee full of bars and restaurants back to the old city. We loved taking a local bus to Montmorency Falls, take the bridge across the falls and the stairs down and then the gandola back up. Lastly take the ferry across to Levis to get an excellent view of the city. If you have bikes this is the place to ride them.
So much to see and do. Take a trip to Quebec City is well worth it. The mountains, the Olympic stadium are also worth a trip. Great location for the crescent which you can get good food and drinks.
Local people so friendly and helpful when asking for advice. Musicians playing and singing. Old Quebec wonderfull and spotlessly clean. Ten plus. Bus and river trip a must thing to do. So many great restaurants.
Loved the old town, port, botsnic garden and Olympic area. Get the bus to quebec. Stay in the old town. You can see enough if you stay overnight and then you can also do montmorency falls. Try the poutines. Loved mont royal and mctavish walk back takes you past refpath museum which is small but free plus great exhibits. Don't bother with tourist bus in either place.routes are limited and you can easily walk. Taxis from airport to downtown Montreal ate $40 but everyone will expect a tip and won't be shy to ask you.
Has much to offer. Everyone should visit old Quebec city - within the walls and ensure to go down to the lower level city as well. Walk to everywhere once you park in the old city. Excellent restaurants at reasonable costs.
I loved Quebec City. It's charm, architecture and history made me enjoy it regardless of the fact it is a complete tourist trap and expensive. Would have loved more time to explore more of the surrounding areas away from the city.
Loved the history and vibe of the town. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. If you like to walk it is very easy to get around and the bus facilities are great, you can buy a day pass or add money to a travel card. I would have liked to see more options for day trips to the countryside, perhaps wine tasting or a foodie tour for the locally made and grown fresh produce . I could only find one in the city of Quebec and one to the Isle d’Orleans. Great meal at the Hobbit, excellent ice cream shop in rue st Jean opposite the Youville pub and shopping was available everywhere. As well as all the chateaux, galleries, museums and historical buildings make sure you visit the area at the base of the Funiculaire, beautiful town square and the rue du Petit-Champlain. Enjoy!
Montréal
Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious enough for our family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids age 9 and 2) and the kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to prepare simple meals. The beds were comfortable. The streaming device on the TV made was appreciated during our down time, and the space was complete with a washer and dryer which was useful to travel light: (we packed 1 medium suitcase for the 4 of us for 6 days/5 nights in the spring in Québec, Canada which means layers are necessary!). The location was great for us!
Hotel Manoir Vieux- Quebec was perfect! It was in the heart of the city and close to everything. We walked to everything and had the greatest time! The room was SO CLEAN and spacious! The shower was hot and had great pressure. There was a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop area too. The staff was WONDERFUL and couldn’t be more accommodating or friendly. We will absolutely be returning and recommending this hotel to friends. Lovely hotel, staff, accommodations-and fantastic trip to beautiful Quebec City!!!!
Great location, close to everything! Restaurants, parking garage. The room was quirky and very different from regular hotels. We like quirky and unique. It had everything we needed and a nice view of Quebec. Comfortable bed. We liked the heat pump feature. Everything was labeled and very modern. Great utilization of small space. Friendly staff! Nice variety of breakfast foods. Had a good laugh when first walking into the room and wondered “how are we going to climb into the bed”? Realized it had to be pulled down. :)
location is very good, only a 2-3 mins walk to Fairmount Hotel (center of Quebec old city), Staffs are helpful and nice and polite, complimentary coffee available 24hrs. ice-maker available. lobby is cozy. Bed is comfortable and the room is clean and spacious, first impression when I entered the room is "feels like home", though no view in the room, practically opposite of the other building. shower water pressure is strong enough (sometimes some hotels' is weak)
Superb location within the fortified city walls! Beautiful neighborhood. Central to the touristy zone of Quebec City. The Hotel is in a beautiful old building. Rooms are well decorated with feature stone walls. Floors creak and are crooked, as you would expect in a 180yr old building. This is a small hotel and you get a personable service. You might be able to get a parking spot if you ask ahead, and for an honest price which is rare in this area of town.
Saint-Roch, Quebec City
Location was close to many good restaurants, boulangeries, and patisseries. Easy walk to Old Quebec. Room was very clean, large and comfortable. Bed was also comfortable. Getting into apartment required a visit to an office a few blocks down the street, where the key code was provided. (We did not have email capability on the afternoon of our arrival.) Staff was bilingual and very helpful. We found easy pay-for-parking across the street.
Quebec City
The Maison Kent is absolutely a delight and the apartments are beautiful! I will be returning to this same hotel for my next visit. The location is right where I wanted to be and so convenient to everything because it is right behind the Hotel Frontenac so you are near the great restaurants, parks, funicular, and all of the best sights of Quebec City. This was not my first time to Quebec City and ended a cruise there this time.
Hotel is not new but well maintained. Breakfast is very good for this class of hotels. At least much better than in another Comfort Inn - Edmonton Comfort Inn - where we also stayed during our trip in Canada. Hotel located directly on the Rt 138 2-3 miles before the intersection with Rt 389 driven from Quebec City. McDonalds and Tim Hortons are nearby. The old town and ferry terminal 5-7 miles further down
Quebec City
We enjoyed our stay at Les Lofts St-Pierre. The location in the lower Old Quebec City was excellent. The apartment was clean and as expected. The unusual small annoyance was the echoing in the apartment due I think to the open areas. The facilities (refrigerator, kitchen appliances and washer and dryer) were modern and excellent. My family would stay at this facility again.
Hotel was lovely, was not expecting it to be as great as it was! The location was very easy for walking around Quebec city. Loved the fact they even provided a bath robe - it was however absolutely ginormous, so perhaps having a slightly smaller option would be great! The later check out at 12 was also very nice, as it allowed us to go and have a nice breakfast on the morning we left.
The property is outstanding. Our room is a little small, but we don’t mind that. The bathrooms are immaculate and the shower is one of the best we have ever had at a hotel. The location is absolutely perfect for a trip to Quebec city. We also had cocktails at Clubby Bar and it was amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else when we come back.
Regarding the quality of the room and restaurant service and cleanness, the price is too high compared to Hotel Quality Inn that I tried while returning to Montreal at Levis near Quebec City. I paid almost half for the Hotel Quality Inn; however, if we rate the luxury, cleanness, and modernity of the Hotel Quality Inn at 8/10, the Hotel Tadusac, I would rate 2/10.
Right in the heart of Old Quebec City and directly across the street from the famous Fairmont Frontenac Hotel, it's a charming, tourist-friendly hotel, and perfect for one or two nights (especially if, like us, you're joining a cruise ship). Also, the local tourist office is in the same building, so quite convenient. Steps from EVERYTHING you'd want to see.
Breakfast was good. We also used the fitness room and appreciated the natural light that came in though the large windows. We go to a restaurant that is less than 10 minute walk from the hotel making the location perfect for us. Also like the quick access to the highway as we come from Toronto and continue on the Quebec City the next day.
Saint-Férréol-les-Neiges
Lisa and Pat where excellent hosts. Lisa gave us a great recommendations about hiking in the surrounding area and restaurants in Quebec. We followed her advise to the T and had a great time. They have a farm not far from the Hotel with beautiful horses that we had a pleasure interacting with. The food served was also excellent.
Excellent location in heart of Vieux Quebec. Warning: there is a short but steep staircase to climb from the street level entrance to the lobby. There was another flight of about six stairs from our room entrance to the main part of the spacious room. This hotel (indeed Vieux-Quebec) is not for you if you can’t climb stairs.
Quebec City
The location was perfect, so easily to walk to all the big sites and an easy Uber ride from the airport. Check in was easy and the front desk staff was fabulous, especially Rachel! Apartment super clean, spacious, washer and dryer included with stocked kitchen for easy stay. Will stay again when we are back in Quebec City!
Quebec City
Apartment large, as described with high quality appliances. Quiet and comfortable, and warm in the cold December temperatures of our visit. The location was perfect for exploring Old Quebec. Also close to train and bus station for exploring further afield. Will recommend it to any friends planning to visit Quebec.
Location and new recent hotel, near Montmorency Falls and Ile d'Orleans. Cleanliness, breakfast included and comfortable King size view with view of river. TV channel service. No french Radio Canada news. Some channels like CNN and Tele Quebec, worked OK for a while, then disappeared later at night?
We researched many options for our first visit to Quebec. Accommodations were the primary focus. We decided to stay at Hotel 71 due to the location. What an amazing home base!! We explored Old Quebec City everyday including rainy days because Hotel 71 provides umbrellas for use by their guests.
